We know that all of China’s gold mine supply stays in the country, so does the majority of Russia’s. However, Australia and the United States exports the majority of their domestic mine supply.

Note that the US always exports more than it imports & that the difference comes from local US production.

Here you can see that the US has exported 4843 tonnes more gold than it imported since 1996

This chart shows US gold production which if totaled since 1996 equals approx 5365 tonnes.

Production = 5365 tonnes
Imports = 5799 tonnes
Exports = 10642 tonnes

Which leaves the US with a net positive holding of approx 522 tonnes since 1996
